class 8/29

Today in class we got to ride in our cool rolling chairs up and down the halls, and take them down the elevator. As awesome as that was, what really stuck out in class today was when Beth was talking about how sometimes it takes feeling and being completely broken to be able to actually find and better yourself. Everybody goes through shit, but I guess it is how we react and rebuild from all the shit that really makes us who we are, and in this class, I think I am going to have an opportunity to really take the time to figure out who I am.

Egg!

For this assignment, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with the egg, and I ended up using it as my centerpiece for my kitchen table, which is where it still sits. After looking at it for a few days, I realized the crazy thought that before anything else, life starts inside of that egg. For humans, it starts in an egg even smaller, but it was a really strange realization for me when I looked over and thought to myself, one day that could have been a chicken.
Regardless of all of the other b.s. that is going on in the world at any given moment of time, the bottom line is that life is too precious, and should be treated as such, especially as humans... or baby chickens.

Seeing Sideways Course Expectations

This semester, I am very excited about having the opportunity to take the Seeing Sideways course. After our first class meeting, I feel that this will be a great opportunity for me to expand my horizons and open up my mind. This past summer was a difficult one, and I think that taking this class and actually forcing myself to think deeper about things is going to do wonders for me.
I have always been prone to taking the easy way out on things, and am actually looking forward to getting deeper into the dwellings of what goes on in my head and trying to figure out ways to express them in a positive and constructive manner, as well as being able to have the opportunity to allow myself to view things in different perspectives as opposed to just seeing something for what it is on the surface.

Until next time...
